Vintage trends – the latest blast from the past reappearing in our homes

Vintage decor will be a big trend for 2023, believe 70% of the interior design professionals questioned in a national survey by Apartment Therapy. Vintage furniture has never been more popular due to two distinct but connected factors: the continuing supply chain problems, and the increasing focus on sustainability. Here are a few trends that will be impossible to ignore in 2023.

Cane Details

Jute, macramé, etc. are becoming more and more relevant. Rattan is also used in a wide variety of furniture, especially chairs and cabinet doors. You can buy vintage goods, which frequently have aged wonderfully due to skilled craftsmanship. Many retailers provide such furniture. Or maybe you got vintage furniture as a gift from your great-grandmother? Now is the time to get the chair out of the lumber-room!

Bold Wallpaper

In 2023, Bold Wallpaper is having a huge, huge moment. But it’s not the wallpaper your grandmother used! These are massive, bold, and lush. WLook for botanical themes and jungle-themed items. A wallpaper mural is another modern twist on the classic wall covering.

New Old Furniture

Give new life to old vintage furniture. Find a new place and meaning for this! For example, you have a cabinet for vinyl records, but you are no longer interested in vinyl. Why not make a drink cart or dressing table out of the closet? Some furniture seems unusable. But it can be easily repaired if sent to a restorer. Just take a fresh look at the old furniture in your lumber-room. Sometimes you can find treasure.

Focus On Personal History, Not Brands

Previously, vintage was associated with well-known names of masters, whose work was hunted by collectors. Today, everything has changed, and the main thing is a personal story: family luggage or those things that remind you of something pleasant. For example, this table clock was in your country in childhood, and now it adds coziness to “adult” life.

But when choosing vintage, remember an important rule. Vintage items have a powerful stylistic energy, so one or two items will suffice. The abundance of vintage furniture looks like a museum hall: very beautiful, but not cozy. Therefore, it is better to include such things pointwise. So the interior will look stylish.
