Coffee House “Black Coffee” – 2
Our collaboration with Black coffee began quite a long time ago. The owners of the coffee shop called us with a request to create a design project for the first café. For a long time the café was a success, and now, a few years later, the owners decided to open a new coffee shop. And, to our pleasure, they called again with another request, to create a design project for a new great place.
Black Coffee at the Drama Theater
The new coffee shop of the Black coffee brand was located in a very unusual place. The café itself was located in the Drama Theatre, so theatergoers visited it every day. But the entrance to the coffee shop was also from the other side, from nearby offices. Thus, it was necessary to create a ‘global’ design: one that would be good for both office managers and theater visitors.
Thinking about the basis for the interior, we analyzed the target audience and the interests of the guests. In any case, we decided that this should be a good coffee shop: a place where you can drink coffee and try fresh pastries. At the same time, visiting this place for all guests is a joyful event. After all, theatergoers come here during intermissions to discuss the play, and managers want to have a good lunch break.
That’s why we used bright fresh colors in the decor: burgundy shades, black, concrete color… The most important feature of the coffee shop was the paintings on the walls. Works of art in such a place play a special role: it sets the tone and helps to immerse into the theatrical atmosphere.
We made almost no changes to the ceiling, windows, floor of the coffee shop. This was partly because the clients had a small budget, and partly because the floor or windows were really not bad.
We used the existing finishes as a backdrop, with the main focus on paintings and other decorative items. As we can see, it worked. The interior really turned out to be impressive, it attracts attention and gives guests positive emotions. In addition, guests often post photos from the coffee house on Instagram, including photos of paintings. We consider this our success, and as a confirmation of success we often receive positive feedback from the client.
